ABonAir at the forefront of the Tour de France 2022 coverage

ABonAir Ltd. announced today that its AB512 wireless broadcasting systems were chosen by Alive Production for the coverage of the prestigious Tour de France 2022 race. The integration and support are provided by Metracom, a Subsidiary of GLOBAL Technologies Group.

Tour de France is broadcasted worldwide. from the Grand Depart to the Flamme Rouge every angle matters! Especially where at times the difference between first and second place is merely a fraction of a second. Capturing the energy, vigor and challenge those superhuman bikers endure and broadcasting it to the millions of spectators around the globe is what makes this event coverage so special.

And what a challenge it is for the broadcasting teams as well! Conveying these iconic moments, ready to move with the camera immediately without literally tripping over the wires or being limited by their length, as nothing needs be attached to the OB van or the receiver. Just like a biker on the starting line, the cameraman is ready to leap ahead and move swiftly transmitting the live event via a robust and stable video link so that not even a millisecond of the coverage is lost.

At the Tour de France, the ABonAir systems are operating at the start and finish areas as well as in the interview area. They are also used with Robotic cameras shooting angles of the races that stream along the narrow streets in the picturesque villages that the race is crossing. The AB512 uses FCE Multi-zone revolutionary technology that enables the coverage of live events on dispersed locations found on a large venue like the Tour-De-France race. Each zone is covered by an FCE, and all are connected to a single Receiver. Using MultiZone™ FCEs, enables to extend the coverage to an endless distance. Roaming from one coverage zone to another is remarkably seamless without losing a pixel!
