ABonAir chosen by Hitachi (Japan) to provide wireless broadcasting systems to MRTV, Myanmar

ABonAir Ltd. announced today that it was chosen by Hitachi Group Japan, to provide Myanmar`s Radio and Television (MRTV) the AB512 wireless broadcasting systems for its new DSNG-VAN fleet, coverings news and sport events.

On March 29, 2017 the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw, the capital city, to provide grant aid yen for the Expansion of Broadcasting Equipment of Myanmar Radio and Television Project. The prime Japanese contractor that was assigned to supply the Broadcast system is NEC that subcontracted the DSNG-VANs supply to Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. Japan. ABonAir equipped MRTV’s DSNG-VANs with its high-end AB512 systems as part of Myanmar’s expansion of broadcasting equipment project.

“The AB512 is a robust wireless video system that enables the DSNG-VAN operators to operate 2 cameras in each of the 3 DSNG-VANs to provide a wide coverage area” said Koji Yuzawa, senior manager at Hitachi Kokusai Electric. “The objective of the Project is to improve environment for expressive and high-quality broadcast programs through expanding broadcasting equipment for MRTV in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon. Now, with the new systems, we will be able to contribute to capacity development of human resources supporting social and economic development including promoting democracy”.

The AB512 is a broadcast quality wireless video link that enables camera teams to transmit video wirelessly directly from cameras to media centers or OB trucks. The AB512 incorporates a wireless optimized CODEC and offers the shortest latency in the industry of only 7msec, thus eliminating lip-sync and enable intuitive RCP control. Based on its bi-directional radio technology between transmitter and receiver, ABonAir’s systems acknowledge the correct receiving of each and every pixel, thus providing exceptionally robust and reliable transmission even in the most challenging environment.
