ABonAir to launch AB305Rugged – a strong metal case wireless video link system designed for extreme field conditions

Kfar Saba, Israel September 12, 2013: ABonAir, a leading provider of microwave video link systems, announced today that it added AB305Rugged to its product portfolio. ABonAir’s wireless video link systems transmit video content from cameras to OB-vans or broadcast stations using microwave technology. The systems enable camera teams to transmit broadcast sessions directly from a camera to an OB van or director-monitor over the air, without complex and time-consuming cable setting. ABonAir’s product-line offers varying sets of features and performance designed for different types of broadcast users and applications. ABonAir’s AB305Rugged now provides yet another feature to enhance the Company’s offering.

Built from aircraft grade CNC aluminum, AB305Rugged case is designed for extreme field conditions, harsh environments and the toughest video crew. With an extremely tough thickness of 4mm, AB305Rugged withstands the harshest field handling and can tolerate falls of over 4 meters. AB305Rugged is based on an OFDM technology and utilizes the unlicensed frequencies of 2.4 Ghz/ 5Ghz. The system’s bi-directional link between transmitter & receiver allows it to acknowledge acceptance of each pixel, and therefore to guarantee zero errors, accurate pictures and stable transmission. It also drives down the cost.

AB305Rugged supports HD and SD in all resolutions and frame rates, with a low delay of only 90msec. The system allows video transmission of up to 500 meters in range, while consuming only 10W of power. All these features are delivered in a small, lightweight and compact form factor that is easily attached to any camera.
